The veil is thinnest. . .
For many of us, the thought of Halloween brings the following things to mind: jack-o-lantern's, a full moon, a scary black cat, the screeching sound of an owl, the smell of sweet goodies and children roaming the streets in costumes. While we are busy preparing for this holiday, an interesting phenomenon is occurring. The veil that separates the physical world and the spiritual world grows thinner and thinner in the days leading up to Halloween. On Halloween, the veil is almost non-existent. With the loosening of the veil, many discarnate spirits make their existence known. What is a discarnate spirit? A discarnate spirit is a 'person or a being that doesn't have a physical body'. Why don't they have a physical body? Because they did not walk to the light when they died. There can be several reasons why a soul doesn't walk to the light at the time of death. The soul could have:
died suddenly and ignored the light because it was confused;
felt and continue to feel unworthy of going towards the light;
unfinished business they want to attend to before crossing over;
unfinished desires or goals that were not met;
something material that it cannot take to the other side with them - a piece of jewelry, a house, a car, a boat, or a material object they feel they need to possess;
left behind someone they love that they feel they can't live without;
I do not think anyone chooses to be a discarnate spirit. It happens, by choice. Most of these souls are stuck. They think they can communicate the way that they used to communicate, but they cannot. Without a physical form, they are left to wander the earth. Sadly, many of these souls are stuck here for years and years. Others are fortunate in that they are crossed over by loving beings on the earth plane that want them to find peace. I met a woman a few years ago who felt it was her sole task to cross over the dead. Yes, she sought out discarnate spirits and crossed them to the light. She said had helped the living for a living and now wanted to help the dead for a living. Her choice was very honorable. If only more of us signed up for this work. Maybe Halloween wouldn't be a night of celebrating horror and shock. Maybe it would be a night of celebrating life and living it well and full.
