Have you been grounded?

In order for us to fulfill our contract, we must be grounded.  Being grounded means we function with our soul and/or spirit inside our physical bodies and yet many of us walk around with our soul and/or spirit floating above us.  Why?  We have unresolved issues, traumas and/or challenges that are too painful to deal with.  Because we do not want to confront the pain, we end up outside our bodies feeling disoriented and disconnected.  While the mind and body struggle with the decision to feel or not feel the pain, the soul saddens because it misses out on its opportunity to evolve.  Ultimately, this decision prohibits us from having a full human experience.  Why is this important?  In order to successfully fulfill our contractual obligations, we must be in the physical body.  We must feel and experience the pain (however crippling it may be) in order to learn the teachings connected to the pain.  In many cases, these teachings are what our soul agreed to experience in order for the growth to occur.

A decision to step back into the physical body requires commitment.  This isn't decision a decision we make once.  It is an ongoing choice than can be made 1, 10 or 300 times a day.  Sometimes we will be successful in our decision and sometimes we will fail, but it is our commitment to this decision that counts.

There are many different ways to ground into the body.  Here are a few of them:

  1. Meditation - with eyes closed or open

  2. Walking barefoot on Mother Earth - feeling the grass, sand or mud under your feet

  3. Eating healthy grounding foods - for example root vegetables like potatoes, turnips, carrots, sweet potatoes, beets, etc.

  4. Yoga or any type of cardio.

  5. Deep breathing

  6. Sending an imaginary cord from your root chakra deep into Mother Earth. This can be done several times daily.

  7. Buying and carrying around a grounding crystal like: hematite, black obsidian black tourmaline.

  8. Using grounding essential oils like: sandalwood, cypress, rosewood, cedar, chamomile, etc.

  9. Taking a salt bath or a salt shower.

  10. Have a square of two of quality, premium dark chocolate.

Employing any one of these or a combination of several will allow you to function in the body and learn to find the joy of being in body.  In time, you'll see that being grounded is the right choice for you.
