Comfort zones
Whether it is a gentle nudge, a subtle push or a full-on kick in the butt, many of us are being urged to move out of our comfort zones. Why? It's time to shift into a new place. In almost every session I've done in the last several months, the main focus has been about shifting into a new space. While we are willing to embrace some newness, most of the shifts are making us uncomfortable. Many of us are experiencing the following: + a switch in jobs or the need to leave one career in order to embark on a new one;
+ the urge to move from one city or state to another;
+ the need to let go of a relationship or relationships that no longer serve us;
+ symptoms of anxiety, stress, panic attacks, restlessness and sleeplessness;
+ a sense of irritability, mini-fits of anger or sadness, a strong level of uncertainty.
What is next for me? The answer to that question can be found by stepping into the cave, the void or the unknown and allowing the silence and the stillness that is found in those places to become one with us. Like the Hermit (in the Tarot) who walks the journey alone with a lantern lighting his or her way, many of us are embarking on a silent journey to experience our inner terrain. How long will we be in the cave, the void or the unknown? We will stay in that space as long as Spirit and our higher selves need us to be there. What does the future hold for us once we step out of the cave, the void or the unknown? We will emerge re-defined, re-connected with a deeper aspect of our true selves and we will re-member that we are reflections of the divine source. We always were and we always will be.
